What is the difference between Amor Boutique Hotel and Local Tribe de Mexico?

Amor Boutique Hotel is a luxury boutique resort. We offer beachfront Villas, exquisite ocean views, and exceptional service. Our unique and beautifully-designed rooms are truly magical and are perfect for your vacation rental.

Local Tribe de Mexico is our ecologically and economically friendly collection, located in Sayulita and within the same location as Amor Boutique Hotel. It embodies our love of mother nature, indigenous art, and pure fun! To that end, we’ve artfully repurposed shipping containers into beautifully appointed rooms, all with private terraces overlooking world-class ocean views or jungle views. Inspired by tree houses perched within the surrounding jungle, Local Tribe is ready to welcome adventurers and seekers of natural beauty.

Local Tribe de Mexico offer 10 individual studios and three 2 bedroom studios and 1 amazing villa, all with spectacular ocean views or jungle views, and exceptional service. Our unique and beautifully-designed rooms are truly magical and are perfect for your vacation rental. What is the difference between Amor Boutique Hotel and Villa Amor?

Villa Amor and Amor Boutique Hotel’s Villas were designed and built by the same developer. Amor Boutique Hotel currently manages the prime, luxury Villas. While we share common facilities such as the pool, Amor Boutique Hotel’s staff is separate from the Villa Amor staff. 

Do you have airport transportation to and from Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR)?

Yes, our concierge is happy to arrange for airport transportation for you. Payment is typically made directly to your driver.

Do you accept pets?

Sorry, no pets.

Is there parking on the property?

Limited parking, first come first serve.

 

Do your Villas have TV or telephones?

Five of our villas have TVs: La Gran Villa has a flat screen TV with complimentary movies in its media room as well as telephones,  Villa Romance with a sitting area for TV viewing, Villa Sirenita, Our guests typically stay with us to get off the hamster wheel of technology-driven lives. While we have Wi-Fi in all of our villas, many guests enjoy unplugging with us during their visit.

Is there room service?

Sí Señor Restaurant, which is separately owned and managed, can prepare meals for you to bring to your Villa. Additionally, our concierge is happy to assist with ordering and picking up food from local Sayulita restaurants. With 100+ options, we’re sure you’ll find something you love.

Can I rent a golf cart to get around town?

Absolutely, our concierge is happy to help you with golf cart rentals.

Can we bring our own alcohol to the pool? Is there an ice machine?

Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own alcohol to the pool, however,  we ask that you don’t use glass for safety reasons. Our pool is open until 8 pm. Unfortunately we do not have an ice machine, but we can gladly order some for you from town for a nominal service fee.

How many steps are there to each room?

Amor Boutique Hotel is ideally located on the south end of Sayulita beach; less than a five minute walk from town center, yet perfectly secluded from the town’s hustle and bustle. Amor Boutique Hotel is your private sanctuary in Sayulita, honoring both our oceanfront location and nature on a beautifully lush hillside offering spectacular ocean views. Some of our villas with the most breathtaking ocean views in all of Sayulita are located high up the hill. Our founder and designer Rod Ingram not only masterfully designed every villa but magically created unique pathways to each one with artisan curved stairways enhanced by hand picked beach stones along the way.

La Gran Villa does have a motorized lift for guests with limited mobility, and taxis/vans are able to drop off guests staying at La Gran Villa, Villa Paraiso, Villa Olito and Villa Mi Amor at the top of the property. That said, please note that we have no elevator and that some of our villas are located quite high up on the hillside. Should you prefer to stay on the ground level, we also have villas with no or minimal stairs. Villas higher up the property (those with the most spectacular ocean and bay views) include La Gran Villa, Villa Paraiso,  Villa RomanceVilla SirenitaVilla Besito DulceVilla Mi Primer BesoVilla OlitoVilla Mi AmorVilla la Paz, and Villa Arboles.

Is Sayulita safe at night?

Yes! On nights when there isn’t a bright moon, we suggest bringing your phone to illuminate your walk back along the beach or beachfront road. We also have a security guard on the property at night.

Is there a restaurant at the resort? Do you have a menu and prices?

There is a separately owned and managed restaurant called Sí Señor Restaurant at Amor Boutique Hotel. It’s open to our guests as well as those staying elsewhere. At this time, we do not have a menu to share with guests as it changes daily depending on the fresh catches of the day. We can assure that the offerings are delicious, with American and Mexican fares to suit guests of all ages.

Is there a store close to the resort?

Yes, there are lots of shops and restaurants within a 3-5 minute walk of the hotel. Pharmacies, corner markets, taco stands, and upscale dining options abound.

Do you host weddings on the property?

What is the weather like?

Located on the Central Pacific coast of Mexico, Sayulita has a a sub-tropical climate with only two seasons; a dry, fairly warm winter (November to May) and hot, semi-humid wet summer (July to October). Winter months average at 27 C where summer months average at 35 C, in other words, you will most likely not be cold. You can see forecasts here.

How is the surf in Sayulita? Can our kids surf there?

Yes! There’s surf in and around Sayulita, and like any other surf spot, the swell depends on mother nature. You can check the surf report here. Sayulita is a perfect spot for beginner surfers and SUP too. Sayulita is a sand break just a quick 2-3 minute walk down the beach from Amor Boutique Hotel. You won’t need a wetsuit as the water averages 80-85° F/26 – 29° C.

Our concierge is happy to set up surf or SUP lessons. Our more experienced surfers can also schedule pangas (boats) for full-day or half-day surfing charters that depart directly from our hotel.

What about fishing?

There’s incredible deep sea fishing as well as crystal clear waters for spear fishing in and around Sayulita. Our concierge is happy to schedule a day pangas (boats) for a full-day or half-day fishing charter. Additionally, we’re happy to help set up more extensive spear fishing trips.

Is there an ATM at the property?

No, but there are several within a 3-5 minute walk of the resort.

Is there money exchange?

There are several currency exchange locations in town, which is a quick 3-5 minute walk. Our concierge will gladly tell you how to get to one.

Are there a lot of mosquitos during the rainy season?

As with any tropical setting, we have some mosquitos. We provide mosquito nets above every bed and spray regularly in and around our resort.

What’s your cancellation policy?

If your reservation is cancelled more than 90 days before the arrival date, you will be charged a one night penalty fee and the balance will be refunded between 3 and 4 weeks. Any cancellation within less than 90 days of your arrival date is non-refundable.

If I reserve a room for a discounted price, can I change my original dates and apply the promotion to different dates?

Our special rates and promotions are for specific dates and villas only. Your discount will only apply to dates within our promotion based on availability.
